ECONOMIC UPDATE: How Marx’s Class Analysis Could Solve Inequality Now (00:29:00)
In this week’s episode of Economic Update, Professor Wolff discusses how Marx’s class analysis presents a solution to today’s inequality and the challenges to overcoming it we have faced throughout history. In short, since the early existence of human society, people lived in tribes, clans, and villages that exhibited equality of wealth, income, and political power among their members. As modern history began to unfold, slavery, feudalism, and capitalism evolved as society as we know it took shape. In each of those three systems, huge inequalities separated people into masters vs slaves, lords vs serfs, and employers vs employees. Exploited and oppressed slaves, serfs, and employees opposed the inequalities of those systems but were unable to overcome them despite repeated efforts (revolutions). Marx questioned why modern societies failed to install and sustain systems of egalitarian wealth and power distribution (democracy). His answer lay in the understanding that class differences within the organization of production produce inequalities and sustain them. Overcoming those inequalities thus requires ending the class divisions within the organization of production and instead organizing in favor of a worker-cooperative structured method of production.

His recent books have included First Church of the Higher Elevations: Mountains, Prayer, and Presence, and most recently, Riding the Wheel: Prose-Poems. From his youth on Long Island, NY, Peter wandered to the western US mountains, finding his self in the high elevations. Peter’s quest for roots and meaning are a deep example of one valuable way to find a deep & enduring sense of home, even more so in our world today. Peter Anderson joins us from Crestone, CO. Past/present religious/spiritual influences: Episcopalian, Eastern Religions, Transcendental Meditation, Yoga, Richard Rohr, Quaker, Native American
LITERATURE ALOUD: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell ch. 19 (00:29:08) (00:00:00)Clearly frustrated at the refusal of his contemporaries to recognise the iniquity of society, Tressell’s cast of hypocritical Christians, exploitative capitalists and corrupt councillors provide a backdrop for his main target — the workers who think that a better life is “not for the likes of them”. Hence the title of the book; Tressell paints the workers as “philanthropists” who throw themselves into back-breaking work for poverty wages in order to generate profit for their masters. The hero of the book, Frank Owen, is a socialist who believes that the capitalist system is the real source of the poverty he sees all around him. In vain he tries to convince his fellow workers of his world view, but finds that their education has trained them to distrust their own thoughts and to rely on those of their “betters”. Much of the book consists of conversations between Owen and the others, or more often of lectures by Owen in the face of their jeering; this was presumably based on Tressell’s own experiences. THE BRADCAST: 3/28/2025 Encore: CEPR Climate Analyst Matt Sedlar on Trump’s order to expand timber production (00:58:00)
Encore: original airdate 3-19-2025. On today’s ‘BradCast’: Corporate news outlets reporting on the return of astronauts from space cleverly omitted referring to the Gulf of Mexico to avoid running afoul of the Trump White House’s silly renaming of the Gulf. A federal court blocked Donald Trump’s unconstitutional ban on transgender people serving in the US military. Trump and Elon Musk’s rampant lawlessness and undermining of our democracy can be overwhelming, but giving up is not an option. MATT SEDLAR, climate analyst at the Center for Economic and Policy Research, discusses a recent Trump executive order to massively expand logging of the public’s national forests, the dangers it poses to the economy and climate, how it won’t reduce wildfires, and may be a step toward privatization of public lands and national parks.

EARTH RIOT RADIO: Corporations Aren’t Ever Called Terrorists (00:29:00)
The corporation isn’t pulled from its home and flown to an unknown prison down South. The corporation has more rights than we do. Only the individual who finds a way to be a corporation will have the protection of the Constitution. Only the individual who can masquerade as a crowd of people obediently looking up at their logo… only that individual who persuades the police that each of his hair follicles is a separate person, that he is a walking mass of citizens… Only that individual will pull me from my bed with just a shout, and a gun, and a flag.

Best of ATTITUDE with ARNIE ARNESEN: March 29, 2025 (00:59:30)
Segment One
We begin the show with Ron Abramson, Chair of Shaheen & Gordons Immigration Law Group. We discuss the recent deportations of Venezuelans swept up in raids, some for only having tattoos. Fear is growing among immigrants across the country. This includes the undocumented, green card holders, and naturalized citizens, and, even born citizens. Immigration lawyers are being targeted. People are being abducted and are disappearing. The Democratic Party’s response has been a series of capitulations and disappointments.
Segment Two
We then catch up with Bill Curry and Robert Hockett. We discuss the recent spate of ‘disappearances’ caused by ICE’s abduction of persons who have voiced their opposition to the Trump campaign of random deportations.
Masked ICE agents have abducted various people, without warrants, and have transported them to different states and countries. This is in direct contravention to a judge’s ruling that this is not legal or warranted.
The administration has threatened judge impeachments and the withholding of funding to the Federal Court systems themselves. Those that have been disappeared are labeled as “pre-guilty’ in contradiction to our Constitution’s guarantees. This assault on persons, the law, and the courts is unprecedented, and frighteningly reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

DOGE has had access to deeply sensitive personal information on virtually all Americans at this point, with essentially zero oversight. This is NOT how government is supposed to work. We breakdown ALL of the departments accessed, in terms of data privacy, and we need to keep everyone informed and educated on just how damaging this is. PLEASE Don’t miss this episode. Please…

SEA CHANGE RADIO: Jeremy Miller: The Urban Tail of the Chinook Salmon (00:29:00)
This week on Sea Change Radio, we highlight a scenario that is constantly being played out in cities all over the world as humankind continues to encroach upon wildlife habitat. This time, however, the dynamic is a little bit unusual as large chinook salmon are finding their way into small urban creeks in downtown San Jose, California. Today we are speaking with environmental writer and fisherman Jeremy Miller as he recounts a piece he recently penned for Sierra Magazine. We try to unearth the mystery of how these fish ended up in a major metropolitan area, look at federal protections which differ based upon a fish’s origin, and discuss the role of the local water district in all of this.
LAURA FLANDERS AND FRIENDS: The Role of Art and Festivals in South Australia’s Green Energy Success (00:28:00)
South Australia has become a global leader in green energy transition, getting off fossil fuels faster, and to a greater extent than almost any other country. How did they do it, and what can we learn from them? In this special report, Laura goes Down Under with her partner, Elizabeth Streb, and her extreme dance company, and discovers how the regions culture and its many world-class festivals have helped pave the way for transformation. Helping to unpack it all is a range of impressive guests, including Susan Close, deputy premier of South Australia; Anot Tong, the former President of the Micronesian island, the Republic of Kiribati; Ruth Mackenzie, former Artistic Director of the Adelaide Festival, now Program Director of Arts, Culture and Creative Industries Policy within the South Australia state government; Rob Brookman, the co-founder of WOMADelaide, the capitals premier outdoor festival; MacArthur Genius Award winner, Elizabeth Streb and the action heroes of her company STREB ” and a WHALE. As you’ll hear, it’s taken politics, policy, science and culture to shift public practice in this extreme-weather-vulnerable area. Over the last decade, South Australia has faced massive storms, brush fires, and extreme heat that have put people, wildlife, and even the festival at risk. Now South Australia is leading the way and using art to help people envision a green future, but they can’t solve the climate crisis alone. In this Climate Week special, we ask how can the rest of the world follow suit?

Pete Hegseth, disclosing explicit, sensitive national defense information and attack plans via the unsecured commercial mobile phone app. In congressional hearings, Democrats countered Republicans’ efforts to minimize the shocking national security breach. Some rightwing media outlets have called for Hegseth’s resignation. In Pennsylvania, Democrats won critical special elections and flipped a deep red state senate seat. Billionaire Elon Musk is spending millions to buy next week’s elections in Wisconsin and Florida. ENCOURAGEMENTOLOGY: Emotional Shape-Shifting: Adapting Emotions in Social Situations (00:30:00)
On this show we are diving into the idea of emotional shape-shifting or adapting our emotions and behaviors in different social situations. Have you ever found yourself slipping into the role of mood manager – filling awkward silences, lifting a heavy atmosphere, or shifting your tone just to keep the peace? Maybe you’ve walked into a room, scanned the emotional temperature, and instinctively adjusted yourself to fit in, smoothing out discomfort like a social glue stick. If so, congratulations! You might be what I like to call an Emotional Shape-Shifter – the person who intuitively adapts to meet others where they are. Sounds like a superpower, right? And in many ways, it is. This kind of emotional adaptability can build connections, ease tensions, and make you the go-to person for support and social harmony. But hers the catch – when does being flexible turn into being too flexible? At what point do we stop adjusting and start erasing ourselves?

Our first guest, Maria Martinez-Sanchez, is a lawyer from ACLU New Mexico. She teaches us about the three branches of government and how they work together to make and enforce laws. We learn that there are different kinds of courts, from small local courts to the biggest court in the country, the U.S. Supreme Court. Maria explains how courts handle both criminal cases (when someone is accused of breaking the law) and civil cases (when people have a disagreement that needs to be solved).
LITERATURE ALOUD: : The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell ch. 18 (00:11:14) (00:00:00)Clearly frustrated at the refusal of his contemporaries to recognise the iniquity of society, Tressell’s cast of hypocritical Christians, exploitative capitalists and corrupt councillors provide a backdrop for his main target — the workers who think that a better life is “not for the likes of them”. THE BRADCAST: 3/24/2025 Guest: Mark Dimondstein, American Postal Workers Union, on Trump’s push to privatizate USPS (00:57:30)
On today’s ‘BradCast’: Major rallies erupted across the country over the weekend in support of the U.S. Postal Service, to fight back against the push to privatize the USPS by Donald Trump, Elon Musk and his DOGE Bros. MARK DIMONDSTEIN, President of the American Postal Workers Union, joins us to debunk the Trump Administration’s lies and misrepresentations, and explain the exorbitant cost of privatization not just to USPS workers but to the country at large. Dimondstein also breaks the news that controversial Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, just resigned, likely to clear the way to privatization. Journalists with Voice Of America have filed suit to reverse the Trump Administration’s silencing of their venerable, independent news organization for the first time since World War 2 — a huge canary in the coal mine for press freedom in the United States.

(Originally aired 10/29/2022) In order to restore harmony to our planet we need major changes in the relationships of people to the Earth & our neighboring species. This is especially vital for city people, as estranged as urban life can be from our neighbors, and so the vision of Arboretum Detroit, led by Birch Kemp & Kinga Osz-Kemp, is to knit together the community of trees & people in Detroit with a quilt of protected forest that will safely mature in perpetuity for all Detroiters. LITERATURE ALOUD: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell ch. 17 (00:28:32)
Clearly frustrated at the refusal of his contemporaries to recognise the iniquity of society, Tressell’s cast of hypocritical Christians, exploitative capitalists and corrupt councillors provide a backdrop for his main target — the workers who think that a better life is “not for the likes of them”. Best of ATTITUDE with ARNIE ARNESEN (00:59:30)
Segment One
We begin the show with Bill Curry and David Atkins. Bill Curry is a two time Democratic nominee for governor who served as Counselor to the President in the Clinton White House. And David Atkins who is a Washington Monthly contributing writer. We discuss Chuck Schumer’s vote for the Republican budget, in opposition to the Democratic members of Congress who voted against it, and most of the other Democratic members of the Senate. It seems that Schumer believes that it is politics as usual, despite evidence to the contrary. We also discuss the administration’s attacks on universities. It is a part of the culture war against liberalism.
Segment Two
We then catch up with Felipe de la Hoz, contributing editor for The New Republic. Along with co-writer Gaby Del Valle, he runs BORDER/LINES, a weekly newsletter breaking down the rapid pace of change in federal immigration policy. We discuss the case of Mahmoud Khalil, who has been taken by federal agents. Although he is a green card holder, he is being treated as a criminal for his speech, apparently, and treated as a threat. We discuss the rationale, and what the various implications are.

This is an archive presentation from a workshop in 2000 with Marshall Rosenberg, the founder of the Center for Non-Violent Communication, titled Giraffe Fuel and a New Language for Life. Marshall Rosenberg passed away in 2015 at the age of 81. He was a brilliant student of human psychology, and his work is very deep and profound. For many years he traveled the world teaching and demonstrating Non-Violent Communication, and creating schools that teach NVC to adults and children. In this interactive workshop presentation Marshall Rosenberg demonstrates a new way of using language to enrich life and make life wonderful for each other, using his model of giraffe and jackal language and way of listening. PLEASE SHARE THIS EPISODE! I don’t normally ask but we’re in crisis mode in this country.
Government is supposed to run on transparency and, at the moment, that transparency has been seriously eroded.
Please…

KEEPING DEMOCRACY ALIVE: Is Freedom of the Press Doomed? (00:58:12)
In being careful to avoid a monarchy or dictatorship, America’s founders adamantly insisted on each government agency being independent. The Federal Communications Commission act of 1934 was created to ensure that the public would have access to news without threat of censorship or control by the executive. As he follows the Project 2025 playbook for controlling what has always been a free press, the Trumpized FCC is beginning a very dangerous overreach. On this show TV news veteran Emily Barr sheds light on the threats to our treasured freedom of the press posed by the Trump Administration. Are we willing to accept news as only what Trump wants us to hear? It looks bad now but there is reason for hope.
AGING MATTERS: Age and Driving (00:58:03)

TUC RADIO: Michael Parenti: Fascism, The False Revolution, Archive TWO (00:29:00)
The overwhelming response from those who heard this program was disbelief – how can an analysis of Fascism made in 1995 be so relevant for 2025! This talk was recorded before a standing room audience of 1,200 in Berkeley, CA, on September 23, 1995. Fascism, as Mussolini allegedly said, should be more properly called corporatism, since it is the merger of state and corporate power.” And history, as told by Michael Parenti, shows that in all fascist societies, be it Italy, Germany, Japan, Spain, and into the present, corporate power increased. When the power of capital is untrammeled, Parenti says, all of us are at risk. The environment, the sacred forests, the creatures of the sea. The real burden to society are not the poor but the corporate rich we can no longer afford them.

Lucky for me, I found my way to Sara Shimazu & Jeff Friedman, orca fans, whale watch captains, and co-hosts of After the Breach Podcast. We had fun with the connection between curiosity and play; interpreting investigative behavior; modeling, fads and “salmon hats”; mediating our own curiosity to protect and honor these remarkable creatures; and why orcas never cease to amaze…

LITERATURE ALOUD: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell ch. 14-15 pt.1 (00:30:24)
Clearly frustrated at the refusal of his contemporaries to recognise the iniquity of society, Tressell’s cast of hypocritical Christians, exploitative capitalists and corrupt councillors provide a backdrop for his main target — the workers who think that a better life is “not for the likes of them”. Veteran correspondent STEVE HERMAN discusses how VOA provided a consistently reliable and authoritative source of ‘accurate, objective, and comprehensive’ news around the world, serving as a beacon of light, hope, democracy and American values to people living under authoritarian regimes, how its demise will be celebrated by US adversaries and dictators, how or if the agency can be rebuilt, and much more.

EARTH RIOT RADIO #160: FEAR Is This Year’s Pickleball (00:29:00)
Fear is hardening into a major force in the United States. But before Trump it was corporations that put fear in the display window. Fear is the new hot product. And our new cryptocurrency is ATTENTION. We can’t look away from the latest hardship or arrest – thats how we buy this product. Our attention is always hunted by Trump and his team on a daily basis. Pay up as you stare! They count on us buying that people in the distance – in any sense – are dangerous. But Trumps flaw is that in the distance is also the Earth, which will soon take all our attention away. Donald! Try to look away from that 3-mile-wide tornado! Look at the flying house! Just like the movie! Oh no! It’s the White House!
PROGRESSIVE PAGE TURNER: Talking About Abolition (00:30:01)
Locking people away for long periods of time seems like a tough but effective way to deal with crime but multiple studies have shown that states with draconian sentences have the same amount of crime as states with more lenient laws. Imprisoning just one person costs tens of thousands of dollars per year and there’s other costs. When parents are taken away from their children, families are strained and communities are weakened. When the prison sentence is done, people traumatized by imprisonment are released into communities where they face discrimination in housing and employment. In her book Talking About Abolition Sonali Kolhatkar looks at alternatives to the current system of policing and imprisonment.

Best of ATTITUDE with ARNIE ARNESEN March 15, 2025 (00:59:30)
Segment One
We begin the show with Nalilia Meijia, Co Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy. We discuss the actions of Trump, essentially gutting most government service for people who are not wealthy. For example, 40% of all children in the US are covered by Medicaid, as are a large percentage of people in nursing homes. This constitutes another massive wealth transfer from the poor to the rich, who stand to gain through tax cuts they do not need. What should be done?
Segment Two
We then catch up with Sasha Abramsky, who writes for The Nation.
We discuss the various boasts and threats by Trump, who has expressed his desire to take over Canada, Greenland, and possibly other countries. This kind of action is compared to the Anschluss (annexations) by Hitler in the 1930s. While Americans almost laugh at these proposed actions, the Danes and Canadians are not laughing. We discuss what US residents/voters must do to prevent total disaster during Trump and Musk’s “smash and grab campaign.

Mainstream media has a lot to account for in 2024, but go back 90 years, and prestigious publications have often failed to see when things were so clearly wrong. In 1930s Germany, many journalists downplayed Adolf Hitlers ascension to power, with the New York Times writing There is no warrant for immediate alarmThe more violent parts of his alleged program he has himself in recent months been softening down or abandoning. But one young British journalist who, seeing what was happening, quit his job with The London Times and founded The Week, a newsletter that became famous for its opposition to fascism and the Western powers that were enabling it. His name was Claud Cockburn, and hes the subject of a newly-released biography by his son, Patrick Cockburn, Believe Nothing Until It Is Officially Denied: Claud Cockburn and the Invention of Guerrilla Journalism, out now via Verso Books. Patrick is an award-winning journalist himself, with a long expertise in the Middle East. And Patrick is Laura Flanders uncle; Claud is her grandfather. CHOOSE TO BE CURIOUS: Wikipedia & Where We Entrust Our Curiosity, with Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight (00:28:00)
People spent an estimated 2.9 billion hours reading English-language Wikipedia in 2024. I wondered: What does it take to be a trustworthy repository for all that curiosity? Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight has been a Wikipedia editor since 2007, and an administrator since 2009. With 100,000+ edits to her credit, she has created more than 4,000 new articles, with concentrations in geography, architecture, and women’s biographies. In 2015, she co-founded a volunteer project intended to address the current gender bias in Wikipedia content and she’s a trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation.

THE BRADCAST: 3/11/2025 Bad Day for ‘Strongmen’: Duterte arrested, Trump/Canada trade war (00:57:00)
On today’s ‘BradCast’: Officials in The Philippines arrested their own former strongman president, Roderigo Duterte, under a warrant from the International Criminal Court accusing Duterte of committing ‘crimes against humanity’ over his ‘war on drugs’ extra-judicial death squads that murdered as many as 30,000 people. The arrest and prosecution offers a potentially hopeful lesson for the U.S. about justice and accountability. Donald Trump backed off some of his threats to escalate his trade war with Canada, but economists are now worried about a coming ‘Trumpcession.’ ‘Disordered discourse’ has a destabilizing effect on democracies. Remembering beloved OG blogger Kevin Drum, who passed this week. Plus Desi Doyen has our new ‘Green News Report.’ https://bradblog.com/?cat=675

ENCOURAGEMENTOLOGY: Beyond the Hammer: Expanding Your Toolbox for Life’s Challenges (00:30:00)
On this show we are going beyond the hammer as we strive to expand our toolbox to handle life’s challenges. Have you ever found yourself approaching every problem with the same solution, even when it’s not the best fit? Maybe you’re the tough love person, doling out hard truths when sometimes a little empathy would go further. Or maybe you’re the peacemaker, smoothing things over when what’s really needed is some constructive conflict. We all have our go-to tools, and when they work, they work – but what about when they don’t? That’s why we’re exploring this top of: If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. This well-known idiom, also called Maslow’s hammer or the law of the instrument, describes our tendency to over-rely on familiar methods, even when they aren’t the best solution.

LITERATURE ALOUD: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell ch. 7 (00:26:41)
Clearly frustrated at the refusal of his contemporaries to recognise the iniquity of society, Tressell’s cast of hypocritical Christians, exploitative capitalists and corrupt councillors provide a backdrop for his main target — the workers who think that a better life is “not for the likes of them”. The Nation’s JOHN NICHOLS explains the extremely high stakes of a pivotal election in a few weeks that will determine the partisan balance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court; billionaire Trump buddy Elon Musk’s efforts to buy the election for the Republicans; the outsized impact the state court has on the national stage, and much more.

EARTH RIOT RADIO #159; Earth Makes Love Makes Change (00:29:00)
When there’s so much love in me that we cross the property line of a climate criminal called JPMorgan… we know that behind the desks, there is love to light up inside Chase. It took 9 weeks. All the way into March, to figure out a new year’s resolution for the Stop Shopping Chxrch. It’s the promise that we keep singing: “Can we be Strange Enough to Change Enough?” And we could say “Love Enough,” because Love is the agent of the kind of change that we need to evolve in these dangerous days. As toxicity from Big Oil tries to take over our public life, our bodies, our minds.. they won’t get our Love! In our love is creativity, the “magic Other,” the evolving soul, the strangeness that they ridicule but want for themselves. That is the seed of the future that they will never touch.

THE PROGRESSIVE PAGE-TURNER: Midnight Kingdom – A History of Power, Paranoia and the Coming Crisis (00:30:00)
In the late 1970s and early 80s the New Deal era where the government regulated businesses and protected citizens from the excesses of capitalism was overturned by Neoliberalism the idea that the market, left to its own devices, would produce an optimal economic system. Neoliberalism was wildly successful at producing billionaires. Their incredible wealth, disproportionate far beyond historical norms, has now bought a United States President. In his book Midnight Kingdom Jared Yates Sexton traces the origins of apocalyptic religious traditions that have shaped the Trump phenonium and what life under autocracy has been like historically.

LITERATURE ALOUD: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell ch. 4-5 (00:24:30)
Clearly frustrated at the refusal of his contemporaries to recognise the iniquity of society, Tressell’s cast of hypocritical Christians, exploitative capitalists and corrupt councillors provide a backdrop for his main target — the workers who think that a better life is “not for the likes of them”. Deanne Fitzpatrick is a virtuoso rug hooker. Her art looks like the love child of wool and Vincent Van Gogh.
She searches for–and finds–fresh and beautiful things in the world around her and supports others in doing the same. Deanne encourages all of us to lean into creating — creating beauty, creating community, and creating that all-essential time for ourselves. And she has thoughts about how curiosity can help. “Blessed be the makers for they find hope in the unknown.” ~ Deanne Fitzpatrick
THE BRADCAST: 3/4/2025 Donald Trump is Bad for Business (00:58:00)
On today’s ‘BradCast’: Donald Trump is bad for business and the U.S. economy. U.S. stock markets plunged in response to Trump’s new 25 percent tariffs against our two largest trading partners and friends, Canada and Mexico. Farmers are hurting from Trump’s freeze on federal agriculture funding. Farm groups are suing the USDA for wastefully deleting taxpayer-funded climate science data. Pointless cuts and mass layoffs are seriously impacting safety, services and maintenance at our national parks. Elon Musk’s DOGE Bros are quietly deleting their error-filled false claims of ‘savings’ from their massive, indiscriminate cuts to the federal government. Plus Desi Doyen has our new ‘Green News Report.’

It’s an internal battle, and let’s be honest, some days, the lazy wolf wins. But what if I told you that this struggle isn’t just about self-discipline or willpower? It’s a deeper, universal experience that has been described for generations through the ancient Cherokee story of the two wolves.

THE PROGRESSIVE PAGE TURNER: Vigilante Nation – How state sponsored terror threatens our democracy (00:30:00)
Laws allowing citizens to either enforce the law themselves or look the other way when violence occurs have been around since the founding of our nation. New laws passed in red states are bringing these types of statutes back. After Roe was overturned the abortion ban in Texas included a bounty hunter clause that would allow vigilantes to enforce the law. This is the sort of alliance between private citizens and the state that allowed the reign of terror by the KKK to flourish. But blue states are not entirely without weapons in this war for the soul of our democracy. In this episode I talk with David Noll, author of Vigilante Nation.

Best of ATTITUDE with ARNIE ARNESEN March 1, 2025 (00:59:30)
Segment One
We begin the show with Bill Curry, former White House aide, and two time nominee for Connecticut governor, and with Conor Williams, senior fellow at The Century Foundation, and an expert on urban education reform. We discuss Bezos’ decision about the Washington Post’s editorial stance. What effect will this have on free speech for newspapers? Should newspaper publishers divest from other business ventures?
Segment Two
We then catch up with Alvin Tillery, Ph.D., the founder of the Alliance or Black Equality. He is also a professor at Northwestern University. We discuss the wildly irrational hatred that the GOP has for DEI. As well as the various methods that the MAGA’s are using to destroy it. Tillery proposes that those who disagree need to act NOW. Just as the Civil Rights Movement did not wait for favorable conditions when mobilizing, we should not wait for favorable conditions when mobilizing against the fascism that is occurring. Lawmakers should use all powers that they have to thwart Trump’s plans. Power concedes nothing without demands.
